Annual Meeting & Program

  • Warren Town Hall 50 Cemetery Road Warren, CT, 06754 United States (map)

A brief business meeting highlighted what we’ve been up to in 2019 and what we have planned for 2020. The business portion was followed by refreshments and a presentation with Q&A on land conservation’s benefit to Warren’s economy by Connie Manes and Mark Nielsen.

Connie Manes is consultant to many local land trusts, and Greenprint Director at the Housatonic Valley Association. She was crucial to creation of the Greenprint’s “Follow the Forest” initiative. Connie serves the national Land Trust Alliance in a number of capacities, is Executive Director of the Kent Land Trust, and chairs both the Kent Conservation Commission and the Advisory Council of the CT Land Conservation Council.

Mark Nielsen is Assistant Director of the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments responsible for environmental and transportation planning. He is an award-winning advocate for and planner of greenways, including the Naugatuck River Greenway, which is currently under development and will span 44 miles from Torrington to Derby.
